I’m Anu Sundell and Studio Sundell is a portrait photography studio located at Mannerheiminaukio in Kokkola. In my portrait work I focus above all on the person: my aim is to capture each client’s personality, warmth and expression in the image. I believe a great portrait is born from the right light, a calm atmosphere and genuine interaction — this has become the core of my work. I work both in the studio and on carefully planned location shoots. Our studio is a calm, accessible space where we can focus on light, composition and guiding the client without rushing. For location shoots we choose the place and time together so that the light and surroundings support the desired result. Every session begins with a conversation: I listen to your wishes, we clarify the intended use of the images (for example a personal portrait, LinkedIn or corporate headshot) and we plan style, clothing and mood together. Guiding clients is one of my strengths — I coach poses and expressions so the result feels natural. My working style is gentle and professional: I aim to build trust so that even a shy person in front of the camera can show their best side. Thanks to my training and long experience I combine technical quality with a human approach. I also invest in image finishing and professional development: the international QEP distinction and several industry awards attest to my craft and vision. Retouching and client-focused delivery are part of my service — I’m happy to advise on image use and product options, whether it’s a public profile photo or a portrait to hang on your home wall. Although portrait photography is my main focus, I also photograph families and other close human stories; these projects strengthen the sensitivity and storytelling of my portrait work.
