I’m Helin, a portrait photographer based in Kouvola — people and their stories are at the heart of my work. My specialism is portrait photography: I love discovering the individual expression and presence in everyone I photograph, whether it’s a personal portrait, graduation session or a corporate portrait for LinkedIn. My working style is warm and calm. We plan the shoot together before we meet: choosing location, style and mood so you can arrive as yourself. I prefer shooting outdoors in a lifestyle approach with soft natural light, but in my studio in Kuusankoski we also create restrained, timeless studio portraits. During the session I use an encouraging and guiding approach — I steer you toward natural poses and genuine expressions rather than demanding excessive posing. What matters most to me is atmosphere and that the images tell something about you. I make portraits that are stylish yet sensitive: some images may be classic black-and-white, others gently coloured with a soft palette. For corporate and CV photography we focus on conveying professionalism and credibility while preserving individuality — the portrait should reach the viewer and say more about the person than just a smile. I aim to keep the shoot relaxed and unhurried; I want the subject to feel safe and at ease. Often the best moments are small, spontaneous instants that I capture in intimate close-ups as well as in clearly composed half-length portraits. In post-production I emphasise naturalness and timelessness — the finished images should still look great years from now. I work across the Kouvola area and am happy to accept corporate and personal portrait assignments further afield.
