I’m Saana Kehus and Valokuvakehus is my home studio in Peurasaari, Kemi. As a portrait photographer I approach every session individually — my goal is to convey genuine emotion and personality through a simple, timeless visual style. My work focuses on people: I aim for portraits that feel natural and tell something true about the person photographed. My style is minimal and clean: I prefer natural light and restrained settings without unnecessary props. This keeps the images timeless and focuses attention on expressions, gazes and small gestures. I am approachable and create a relaxed, safe atmosphere during shoots — I gently guide poses and expressions so that even those who feel uneasy in front of the camera can relax and be themselves. In addition to portrait photography, I happily photograph maternity, family and newborn sessions. These experiences have given me a particular sensitivity for capturing the dynamics between moments and people. My background as a physiotherapist and my people-centered working approach help me create calm, considerate sessions, which is especially valuable when working with families and very young babies. Practically speaking, I offer a clear and personal process: before the shoot you’ll receive tips on wardrobe and preparation, the shoot itself is calm and unhurried, and the result is an extensive gallery to choose from. Sessions can take place in my home studio, at your home, or in a chosen location across the Kemi–Tornio region.
