I am Simo Vilhunen, a portrait photographer and creative professional based in Rovaniemi. For me, portrait photography is a way to tell people’s stories visually — I don’t aim for over-the-top staging but for authentic expressions and situations that convey personality and professionalism. My specialism is professional imagery: LinkedIn photos, corporate portraits, passport photos and personal profile pictures where the image supports your message. My background in marketing and brand communications helps me understand which image works for your purpose — whether you need a convincing corporate portrait, an approachable LinkedIn profile photo, or an official passport photo that meets technical requirements. My goal is always to make the photograph a tool that strengthens your professional image. I approach portrait shoots with a relaxed, client-focused attitude. First we discuss your wishes and the intended use of the images — from that brief I design the mood and look of the session. During the shoot I concentrate on natural expressions, the harmony between subject and lighting, and ensuring you feel comfortable. I offer subtle guidance on poses and expressions so the result looks like you. I draw on extensive experience in photojournalism and commercial photography: I aim to communicate visually with depth, not just form. I maintain a large image archive on Flickr and produce tailored image series for companies and individuals. My photos are suitable for web use, presentations and marketing materials, and are created with practical application in mind. I operate primarily in the Rovaniemi area but can arrange shoots beyond the region when needed.
