I’m Linda Vänskä, a portrait photographer based in Joensuu and a practicing cosmetologist. For me, portrait photography is a way to tell a person’s story in a single frame: I aim to highlight personality, natural expressions and genuine encounters. My working approach is calm and encouraging — I want my clients to feel safe and relaxed in front of the camera. My special expertise focuses on portrait, child, family and maternity photography. As a former early childhood educator and a cosmetologist, I know how to create a playful, child-centered atmosphere while also paying attention to the visual details that make an image feel finished. My studio at Malmikatu 5B in Joensuu provides a peaceful environment for sessions, but I also photograph on location or in your home — always choosing the setting that best serves your story. I work collaboratively with my clients: I listen to your wishes, suggest visual ideas and guide poses to achieve natural results. With child sessions we always proceed at the child’s pace; for maternity and newborn sessions I prepare for patience and flexibility — for newborn shoots I use swaddles and props in the studio or bring them for a home visit to ensure comfort and safety. Although portrait photography is my strongest area, I also offer corporate headshots and personal profile photos for LinkedIn or workplaces, delivered with the sensitivity and expertise of portrait and family photography. In collaboration with the Womena beauty salon, I can also arrange hair and makeup services to combine professional styling with your photoshoot when you want a more polished or celebratory look.
