I am Henna Ikonen — an award-winning portrait photographer based in Varkaus, passionate about creating atmospheric and emotive portrait photography. For me portrait photography is more than a momentary shoot: it is an opportunity to pause, discover your personality and shape a story into an image. I work both in my studio in central Varkaus and in beautiful on-location settings, such as the Joenmäen tila estate — always guided by the client's wishes and the character of the subject. My work has been recognized in the Finnish Photo Awards, and I am a member of the Finnish Professional Photographers Association (Suomen Ammattivalokuvaajat ry). My professional expertise is combined with sensitivity and a warm, client-focused approach: I aim to make the session unhurried, safe and genuinely present. I guide and support poses and expressions so the final images feel like you while remaining visually strong and timeless. How I work: we always start with a conversation about your wishes, preferences and any visual references you have. My studio offers a calm atmosphere and a loan wardrobe rack to help you feel comfortable and get into the moment. When shooting outdoors I seek natural light and the mood of the surroundings to support the portrait's character. After the session I provide a preview gallery from which your selected images are carefully retouched and finalized. I take particular joy in creating lasting keepsakes through my portraits — images that adorn homes and accompany people throughout life. While portrait photography is my main focus, I also photograph families and pets, bringing the same sensitivity and presence to every session so the resulting images feel alive and meaningful.
