I’m Jukka Kosonen, and at Koivu Visuals portrait photography is my core work. I operate in Lappeenranta and the surrounding area, and I approach portraiture with passion: my aim is to create images that feel like a real person rather than just a pose. My work is grounded in calm direction, sensitivity and a desire to capture the character of the moment—whether it’s a personal portrait, a studio portrait or a corporate image for profiles and marketing materials. As a portrait photographer I place great value on interaction before the shoot. Together we plan the mood and the intended use of the images: do you want a timeless studio portrait, a more relaxed lifestyle image, or a clear corporate headshot for LinkedIn and other professional channels? I can work in the studio or on location, and my approach is always adapted to the client—I provide gentle posing guidance and seek natural moments so the final images speak to the viewer. From a professional standpoint I draw on long experience in exhibitions and publications as well as recognized distinctions: I have been awarded the Artiste FIAP distinction and the Master Photographer title by the Finnish Union of Camera Clubs, and my work is included in collections such as the National Museum and the South Karelia Museum. This background is reflected in my attention to image quality, composition and the use of light. During the session I aim to create a calm, trusting atmosphere that makes being photographed easier. I perform professional basic retouching and deliver images securely via a protected download link; on request I can also provide a few preview images shortly after the shoot.
