Embryo Photography

I’m Jarno, the portrait photographer behind Embryo Photography in Mellunkylä. I love capturing people in environments that say something about them — which is why I often choose location shoots in nature or the city. I’m a self-taught photographer and my passion grew through outdoor sessions; this shows in the way I seek light, atmosphere and authentic moments. My specialty is portrait photography: individual portraits, family photography and maternity photography. I approach each session as a small story — my aim is to bring out the true essence of the people I photograph and the feeling that makes your images touching. For me, a successful photo is empowering: it makes a person feel seen and beautiful in their own way. My style is relaxed and natural. I aim to create a shoot where clients can forget posing and let the moment breathe. I spend time in pre-shoot conversations: together we find the right location, avoid rushing, and give space to the small gestures and looks that make photos personal. Working with children is natural to me — I have more than fifteen years of experience — so family sessions often produce genuine smiles and warm moments without stress. I also have strong local knowledge: I know the bright spots and hidden gems around the Helsinki region and Mellunkylä that work well in different seasons. This helps find the setting that supports the mood you want in your images.
