I’m Riku Isohella, a portrait photographer working in Porvoo who creates portraits tailored to the needs of an individual or a company. The most important aspect of portrait photography is genuine recognisability: I want the image to reveal something of the person’s character while also serving its intended use — whether that’s a LinkedIn profile, a corporate headshot or a passport photo. My working method is practical and attentive. My background as a photographer and photojournalist has taught me to look for a story in every image and to work efficiently in changing conditions. I always prepare an initial proposal and listen to the client’s wishes — style, background and usage context guide the lighting and composition. Often a calm conversation and a few simple directions in front of the camera are enough to capture authentic expressions and a natural posture. My technical skills and long experience (professional since 1993) ensure high quality: I master studio lighting and also shoot on location where the environment becomes part of the story. I use modern equipment and workflows so that colour, sharpness and post-production support the client’s brand and message. I also work smoothly with corporate communications and marketing teams — I understand well what images are needed for customer magazines, websites or reports. The atmosphere during a shoot is relaxed and professional: my aim is to make the experience pleasant and efficient so clients receive natural, representative images without unnecessary stress. I provide portraits that work both in digital profiles and in printed materials. I operate from Porvoo and am available across Finland or internationally when required.
